Achievements: Broke Mexico High School long jump record three years in a row. Broke Mexico High School volleyball record for blocks in a game. President of French Club, member of Biology Club, Beta Chi Pi Club, National Honor Society

Reason For Nomination: Erika is an excellent student/athlete. As you can see above she exemplifies both sides of student and athlete. She also has a great work ethic and is an outstanding example to all of our younger student/athletes.

Plans After High School: Erika is going to the University of Missouri - Columbia on a track scholarship.

Justin Buschjost

Blair Oaks High School

GPA: 4.0

High School Sports: Baseball 4 years Basketball 3 years


Achievements: Baseball Lettermen 2 years Basketball Lettermen 1 year Justin is in the top 10 in his class and has received the Board of Governors scholarship from Missouri State. He is also a member of National Honor Society

Reason For Nomination: Justin displays a great amount of leadership not only on the playing field, but in the classroom as well. His work ethic sets a positive example to those around him and encourages his teammates and fellow classmates to strive for excellence.

Plans After High School: Justin plans to attend Missouri State in Springfield, and major in History Education.

Tory Hicks

High School Sports: 4 yrs Basketball 4 yrs Baseball


Achievements: Baseball Conference MVP/All Conference Baseball all 4 yrs All Conference Basketball 2 yrs/All State Baseball 1 yr NHS-3yrs Selected for West Point Leadership and Air Force Academy Program 2009 "A" Honor Roll all 4 yrs/Volunteer Referee for Youth Tournaments

Reason For Nomination: Tory is a senior and has always displayed an exemplary work ethic in the classroom and a positive role model for all students. On the basketball court and baseball field, he gives 100%. Tory takes his role of student-athlete seriously and is a responsible, trustworthy young person with a bright future.
