Megan Distler

Reason For Nomination: Megan is a very unselfish player who puts the needs of team first. She knows her role on the team and fills it well. She quietly goes about her business, works very hard and sets a great example for the rest of the team. Megan is not only smart in the classroom but on the court as well. Her volleyball IQ is very high as she is aware of game situations, where to be positioned, etc.

Plans After High School: Megan plans to attend college and continue playing volleyball.

Haley Marquart

Belle High School

Reason For Nomination: Haley is an outstaning student athlete, she has great leadership skills and is a excellent student and athlete. She always stands up for what is right and makes others around her feel important. Haley is just an all aroung great person who works very hard at everything she does.

Plans After High School: To continue on to college.

Jake Laughlin

Vienna High School

Achievements: Student Council-Honor Roll FFA National High School Rodeo Varsity basketball letter winner

Reason For Nomination: Jake exhibits outstanding leadership and character in the classroom, on the basketball court and in all school and community activities.He is a winner and a great example of what being a "Vienna Eagle" is all about!-Submitted by VHS Athletic Department.

Plans After High School: Attend college and major in Agricultural Business.

David McAdams & Alloch Burton

Jefferson City High School

High School Sports: Track and CC both captains multiple all staters

Achievements: multiple all state honors top ten in state

Reason For Nomination: Outstanding performance in both sports, both top ten in class 4.0 gpa , captians in track in cc, outstanding character, student and athlete

Plans After High School: David undecided math area d one school Alloch pharmaceutical d -1 school Both have been elementary school best freinds since kindergarten at West School have lived across the street from each other all their lives.

Michael Schmidt

Centralia High School

Currently in his 4th year of wrestling - state medalist the first 3 years


Achievements: Also involved in FFA. Loves to hunt and fish

Paige Baysinger

Fulton High School

GPA: 4.20

High School Sports: 4 year softball player All-Conference 2007, 2008, 2009 All-District 2008, 2009


Achievements: Student Council, Future Business Leaders of America, Future Teachers of America, National Honor Society (Vice-President), Academic Week, Senior Class Vice-President, Polar Bear Plunge participant (to raise money for Special Olympics, Special Olympics coach, 2009 Central Area special Olympics Coach of the Year.

Reason For Nomination: Paige exemplifies the term student-athlete. She is an outstanding student in the classroom, where she is highly motivated and contentious. As an athlete, you will not find a more dedicated and hard working player. On the softball field she is a leader by the example that she sets. Possibly the one thing that sets Paige apart from other student-athletes is her involvement with Special Olympics. In addition to the time Paige spends coaching a 3 on 3 Special Olympics basketball team, she has participated for several years in the Polar Bear Plunge to help raise money for Special Olympics and was recently named the 2009 Central Area Special Olympics Coach of the Year. Her involvement with this organization is just one demonstration of her caring and compassionate nature.

Plans After High School: Attend William Woods University and pursue a degree in education.

Stephanie Baker

Cole County R-1 Russellville

GPA: 3.9

High School Sports: 1 year volleyball 4 years track - shotput, discus 3 years baskeball


Achievements: FFA member 4 years - secretary gr. 10, president gr. 11, sentinal gr. 12; FFA State Leadership Award, FFA Scholarship Award Class officer - treasurer gr. 9, secretary gr. 10, secretary gr 12 Student Council Representative gr. 12 Academic awards in Physical Science, Algebra I, World History, Biology, and Geometry Honor Roll grades 9-12 Basketball - Most Improved Player gr. 11, Best Offense gr. 11 Track - All-Conference Shot Put gr. 11 Many volunteer service activities including work with Salvation Army bell ringing, Special Learning Center, Special Olympics, Columbia Food Bank, etc.

Reason For Nomination: Stephanie is a very high quality young lady both personally and academically. She works very hard at whatever the task. She has a very pleasant personality, is an excellent school and community citizen, and an outstanding role model for our student body. She has been a very busy young lady throughout her high school career and excelled in every endeavor.


Plans After High School: Stephanie plans to attend Missouri State University with a major in pre-veterinary medicine.

Adam Brush

Southern Boone High School

GPA: 3.51

High School Sports: Baseball and basketball 4 years


Achievements: Baseball: All-state 2009; all-area 2009; all-district 2008 and 2009; all-conference 2008 and 2009 ACT score of 26

Reason For Nomination: Adam is fine young man. He is a strong student, both academically and athletically. He is a leader and sets a great example for others to follow. Adam has made a great contribution to Southern Boone High School in his nearly four years here. I feel that Adam is a perfect example of what a student/athlete should be.


Plans After High School: Adam plans to attend college and play baseball.

Katie Mehmert

Chamois High School

GPA: 3.92

High School Sports: 4 years Basketball 4 Years Volleyball 4 Year Track


BLA - Sec. FFA - Vice President

Reason For Nomination: Katie has been a starter in basketball the last three years. She has improved every year and has brought a good attitude to practice and the games. She has been all dirtrict and all conference teams the past two years. We are currently 8-1 and the reason we are Katie is a great captain and she has been a great leader for the younger players on the team. She works with them very well. She is averaging 17.3 ppg and 11.3 rbp. She has scored over 20 points 5 out of the last 6 games.


Plans After High School: Plans to attend Univ. of Central Missouri to study Physical Therapy.

Shaya Kinsey

Belle High School

GPA: 3.92

High School Sports: 4 years Basketball 4 Years Volleyball 4 Year Track


Achievements: Softball Shaya received All-conference, All-District,All-Region and Second team All-State, she also played in the senior show case and was the MVP of the tournament. I Basketball to this point she has scored 1000 career points, was named to the all-tournament team in the Cuba tournament, Leads her team in scoring averaging 27.9 points a game. she is also on the Virge of breaking some of the tournament records in the Fatima tournament. Academically she excels with a 4.0 GPA and is in the top of her class.

Reason For Nomination: Shaya is an outstanding student/athlete she is presently caring a 4.0 GPA while participating in in basketball, student council, FBLA, National Honor Society President,A+ program and taking college classes and has been on the honor-roll all 4 years. She has broken some long standing scoring records as well as hitting the 1000 career point mark. Shaya is an outstanding young lady who continually displays respect and genuine care for others she also demonstrates strong leadership skills and has remained grounded through out her success.

Shaya last week scored her 1000th point of her HS BB career. She is averaging over 27 points per game this year. With a game to play Friday, she has already set the record for Fatima Tournament Single Game Scoring (41), Free Throws Made in Single Game (19), tied Tournament Free Throws (28) and has a chance to set the Tournament Scoring record tonight vs St Elizabeth. She scored 41 of her teams' 55 points vs JC's JV on Wednesday.


Plans After High School: haya is going to attend college and play softball and possibly basketball. She Is weighing her options and has made no firm commitment at this time.

Taylor Allen

Fatima High School

GPA: 4.0

High School Sports: Freshman- Baseball, Basketball , Soccer Sophomore- Baseball, Basketball, Soccer (MVP)Junior- Baseball, Basketball, Soccer (2nd Team All-State, All Region, All District)Senior- Baseball, Basketball (MVP Linn Tourney), Soccer (1st Team All-State, All Region, All District)


Achievements: Taylor has made the “A” Honor roll every semester of High School Career.

Act Score 33 and still taking to achieve a better score.

CLUBS & Organizations – FBLA- All state speaker 2008, NHS, SADD, FBLA, FCA

Community Involvement- Meramec Regional Planning Commission-Youth Service Award

Reason For Nomination: Taylor Allen- Is a great student athlete to have both inside and outside of the classroom. Taylor is an enthusiastic and emotional leader in whatever task or challenge that he chooses to compete in. Taylor is also a role model for other students and student athletes in our school as he is an outstanding student by displaying great sportsmanship, good grades, school attendance and he is an asset to the community and our district.


Plans After High School: Plans to attend University of Missouri Columbia to become a Doctor.

Tillie Bill

Southern Boone High School

GPA: 4.0

High School Sports: Soccer - 4 years Basketball - 4 years Softball - 2 years Golf - 1 year

All-District Team 2009; Central Region Player of the Year 2009; All-State 2009. Class 1 Offensive Player of the Year 2009. Scholastic All-American 2009 Softball: All-Conference and All-District Team 2007 Golf: All-District Team 2008 and member of the team that finished 3rd in State

Reason For Nomination: Tillie is a great example of what a student/athlete should be, as she excels both in the classroom and on the athletic field. She is a team leader and a very positive person. She is supportive of her teammates and is a great influence on others. Tillie is simply one of the finest students I have met in my 20 years of education. She is as close to the ideal student/athlete as there is.


Plans After High School: Plans to attend Illinois Wesleyan University and play soccer.

Achievements: completed A+ program senior class president president of NHS secretary of FBLA

Reason For Nomination: Megan is captain of the basketball team, and she works extremely hard to support her teammates. She is always looking out for others on and off the court. She also works really hard to maintain good grades and keep a positive attitude.


Plans After High School: Megan plans to attend Westminster University in Fulton and become a high school math teacher and basketball coach.
