Dani Canaday

Moberly High School

GPA: 3.3

High School Sports: 4 year basketball


Achievements: Symphonic Band, Editor of the school newspaper, and basketball, FBLA, DECA (placed 3rd at district contest)

Reason For Nomination: Dani Canaday is worthy of the student-athlete of the week award because she is a true team player. Dani accepts her weaknesses and embraces her strengths on and off the court. She is committed to her team,and committed to her school as she is the editor of the school newspaper and a member of the school band. Dani is a great ambassador for our team, school and community.

Plans After High School: Dani plans to go to MACC for 2 years to get an associate degree in English. After that she plans to transfer to Northwest Missouri State to get a bachelor's. Dani also wants to minor in coaching so that she can teach younger kids the game of basketball.

Parker Henley

Eugene High School

GPA: 3.96

High School Sports: Parker lettered in basketball for 3 years


Achievements: Parker was All Conference 2nd Team Jr. Parker was All Conference Honorable Mention Sr. Parker is FFA President

Reason For Nomination: Parker is a hard worker in both basketball and as President of FFA. Parker is an outstanding person who is always willing to help out.

Plans After High School: Parker plans on attending college and becoming a veterinarian.

John Filkins

New Bloomfield R-III High School

GPA: 3.98

High School Sports: 4 Years Baseball, 4 Years Basketball


Achievements: Vice President of the High School Student Council, President of the National Honor Society

Reason For Nomination: John is a leader in the school with a good work ethic and a real role model for younger students." Suzanne Lackmann HS Principal John has only missed 5 days of school since starting school his kindergarden year. He will graduate from High School with 12 college credit hours.

Plans After High School: ohn plans to attend college and pursue a degree in engineering.

Corry Adams

South Callaway High School

GPA: 3.78

High School Sports: 4 years of Varsity basketball 1 year of Track


Achievements: National Honor Society, French Club, Fine Arts Club, Athletic Association Member, All-American Scholar Award as freshmen

Reason For Nomination: Corry is a dedicated student and athlete. Great leadership skills as captain of boys basketball team last two seasons.

Plans After High School: To attend Linn Tech to become a physical therapist assistant. Future plans involve becoming certified physical therapist with a working practice.

Courtney Hoecker

Saint Elizabeth High School

GPA: 4.06

High School Sports: 4 year -- softball, basketball and track


Achievements: Courtney has been a member of our SADD group and is a current member of FBLA. She was All-State in Track her freshman year in our 4x100 relay that finished 3rd. A knee injury prevented a repeat performance her sophomore year -- she came back strong her junior year and just missed making the finals at State.

Reason For Nomination: I know you hear this all the time, but Courtney is one of those student/athletes that gives 110% all the time. She may not always be the best, but there is NO ONE who ever outworks her!! She is a quiet leader -- leads by example, not a lot of words.

Plans After High School: Attending MO State Univ and major in business.

Kara Steiner

Jefferson City High School

GPA: 3.98

High School Sports: 4 years of varsity softball 4 years of varsity soccer


Achievements: *member of the state championship Jefferson City High School Softball team. *2010 co-captain of soccer team *2009 regional player of the year in soccer *2009 3rd team all-state in soccer *2009 1st team all-district in soccer *2007 2nd team all-district in soccer

Reason For Nomination: Kara one of the hardest working student athlete's I've ever had the pleasure to coach. Day in and day out she strives to be the best player on her team. She also lives and dies for those around her. Her hard work is extremely contagious which is why she wears a captain's band for our soccer team. Most importantly, she is an exceptional student in the classroom. It's very difficult excel in two high school sports as well as the classroom. I think her post season accolades and GPA speak for their self.

Plans After High School: Kara is planning on attending Drury University in Springfield, MO. She will be playing soccer for the Lady Panthers and majoring in Pre-Veterinary Studies.

Callan Luetkemeyer

St. Elizabeth High School

GPA: 4.27

High School Sports: 4-years Softball and Track


Achievements: All-Conference and All-District Softball 3-yr All-State Discus. She holds school and conference records of 124'7" -- she is just 4 feet from the Class 1 State Record

Reason For Nomination: Callan has always strived to be the best!! In academics as well as athletics. Her work ethic is second to none -- she is #1 in her class and many times uses her "personal time" after practice to help herself achieve her goal of State Champion in the discus. She has also been a huge help to younger athletes -- helping them daily in practice.

Plans After High School: Attend Saint Louis University and major in Biology/Medical Research. She is undecided if she will continue her track career there.

Mackenzy Crabtree

Hallsville High School

GPA: 3.75

High School Sports: 4 years as a volleyball player; 2 years as a basketball player; 2 years as manager of the boys baseball team


Achievements: Chamber Choir; Drama; Secretary of National Honor Society; Senior Mentor; and Front Row Order.

Reason For Nomination: Mackenzy started playing volleyball the first year Hallsville started the program in the fall of 2006. She became the first Hallsville athlete to play volleyball for four years and is the first Hallsville athlete to receive a college scholarship to play volleyball. Received Best Offensive Player of the volleyball team this year, and was named to the second team all-district volleyball team. Mack has been an outstanding student and leader at Hallsville. She certainly was instrumental in the volleyball team having their first winning season this year.

Plans After High School: Mack will graduate on May 29th and will attend Missouri Valley College in Marshall, MO where she will be playing volleyball. She plans to major in elementary education.
